[ Description ]
China has 34 provinces, each one has many counties. As the most localized cultural carriers, county cities embody the essence of social expression in China. In contrast to cities like Beijing and Shanghai, which represent economically and culturally advanced areas, these small and large counties form the foundation of Chinese society. For many, counties symbolise "roots" and "belonging." Unlike the advanced and future-oriented image represented by core cities, the emotions of most Chinese people are rooted in the simplicity of county and rural cultures. Within these counties, many unique visual symbols have emerged. For example, billboards, often arranged in an irregular way. While there is a high degree of similarity across counties, each region incorporates its own distinct cultural characteristics within this similarity.
